GAINESVILLE, Fla.–At this time, we are suspending all activity at Gainesville Raceway for 30 days in responce to the coronavirus pandemic.
This suspension will unfortunately affect some of our currently scheduled events such as the RaceWars Race & Car Show, the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience, and the Pure Speed Drag Racing Experience, as well as a number of our normal weekly racing activities. We intend, at this time, to resume the original schedule on April 17 with our “Fast Friday” Street Legal Madness, followed by our Drag Slicks and Radials Test-and-Tune event on Saturday, April 18, and continue thereafter, subject to developments in the interim.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely, to listen to experts, and to be transparent as to when we believe racing will resume at Gainesville Raceway.
This decision was made with heavy hearts as we the the effect this pandemic is having on the world, the country, and our Gainesville Raceway family. With recommendations to practice social distancing and reduce social gatherings, we believe this is the right descision and will be the most effective way to protect everyone in the long run.
We are all in this complicated, uncertain, and rapidly changing situation together, and we encourage everyone to look out for each other. Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones. We encourage you to consult http://www.cdc.gov/cornavirus/2019-ncov/index.html for information and updates.
